My views on Sibelius

My residency at the Cité des arts in Paris is coming to an end. Still one week to go. I’m delighted to see the start of a spring, and greatful for the opportunity to work intensively for two months in such a fabulous, urban landscape, on the banks of Seine.  Thank you MES, The Finnish Music Foundation for the work grant.

My studio here is named after Jean Sibelius. I’ve been singing Norden from time to time to keep it alive for the next concert. It will hopefully end up on Quartet Ajaton’s third album! Lately I’ve also been thinking a lot about my  background which has been formed by the studies at the Sibelius-Academy.  With distance I appreciate my musical roots more and more. The picture below is a nice reminder of it too.
